Jesse Van Rootselaar killed eight people, including her mother, stepbrother, five students, and a teacher, during a mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, before taking her own life.Authorities confirmed that Jesse Van Rootselaar had a history of mental health struggles and had previously created a simulation of a mass shooting on the gaming platform Roblox.The biological father of the shooter, Justin VanRootselaar, issued a statement of condolence to the victims while clarifying he had no involvement in the life of Jesse Van Rootselaar.
