Philip Rivers confirmed his permanent retirement from professional football following a brief three-game return to the Indianapolis Colts.Rivers will return to coaching at St. Michael Catholic in Alabama after his Hall of Fame eligibility was reset to 2031.The veteran quarterback joined the team mid-season after Daniel Jones suffered an injury but failed to record a victory in his final starts.
