Simone Moro, a 58-year-old Italian high-altitude climber renowned for winter ascents of eight-thousand-meter peaks, fell seriously ill after descending from Nepal’s Mera Peak and was later hospitalized in Kathmandu for medical evaluations.Following a remote video consultation with doctors in Italy, he was airlifted by helicopter the following day, and his team reports that his condition has improved and he is in good spirits while further tests are conducted.
